This Legal Notice applies to the Akola Jewelry website and any online stores representing Akola. By visiting or purchasing from the Site, you agree to the terms described here. Please read this notice carefully.

Akola is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States. We create dignified employment for women in Uganda through handcrafted jewelry. Every piece sold through our Site directly supports sustainable wages and long-term stability for our artisans.

All prices listed on the Site are full retail prices. We do not run sitewide sales or publicly posted promotions.

Email Subscriber Discounts

Exclusive pricing is offered to email subscribers only. Discount codes are delivered through our email list and are not available on the Site itself. Subscribing to our email list is free.

Event Discounts

Attendees at Akola events may receive a unique discount code. Each code is specific to that event and valid through the Sunday following the first payday after the event date. Codes are non-transferable and single-use unless otherwise stated at the event.

Affiliate Codes

Akola works with a select group of social media affiliates. Each affiliate has a unique code. Affiliate codes provide a discount to the customer and a commission to the affiliate on qualifying sales.

Designer and Wholesale Partnerships

Pricing for designer partnerships and wholesale accounts is handled separately and does not affect retail pricing on the Site.

We reserve the right to modify prices at any time. Price changes do not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

Akola offers products on a monthly and seasonal basis. Some collections and styles are available for a limited time only. We do not guarantee that any specific product will remain available indefinitely.

If an item you ordered becomes unavailable after your purchase, we will contact you promptly to offer a replacement or full refund.

All orders are subject to acceptance. Placing an order does not guarantee fulfillment. We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion, including orders that appear fraudulent or that exceed reasonable quantity limits.

Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments and other payment providers at checkout. Akola does not store your full payment card information.

You will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation is not an acceptance of your order. Acceptance occurs when your order ships.

We ship orders within the United States and to select international destinations. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are not guaranteed. Shipping times may vary due to carrier delays, holidays, or factors outside our control.

Akola is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier once a package has been handed off for delivery. If your order is lost or significantly delayed, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.

International orders may be subject to customs fees, duties, or taxes imposed by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

We want you to love your Akola piece. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is in its original, unworn condition with all original packaging.

To initiate a return or exchange, email us at care@akolajewelry.com with your order number and reason for return. We will provide return instructions. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrived damaged or defective.

Items purchased with a discount code are eligible for return or exchange under the same policy. Refunds will reflect the actual amount paid, including any discount applied.

We do not accept returns on final sale items, if any are designated as such at the time of purchase.

All content on the Site, including text, images, photography, logos, product names, and design elements, is the property of Akola Project or its content partners. All rights are reserved.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any content from the Site for commercial purposes without our written permission. Personal, non-commercial use with proper attribution is permitted.

The Akola name, logo, and the name "Unlock-It Bracelet" are trademarks of Akola Project. Unauthorized use of these marks is prohibited.

Affiliates who participate in the Akola affiliate program agree to promote Akola products honestly and in a manner consistent with our brand values. Affiliates may not make false or misleading claims about our products or the impact of a purchase.

Affiliate commissions are earned on qualifying sales tracked through the affiliate's unique code. Commissions are not earned on returned or refunded orders.

Akola reserves the right to remove any affiliate from the program at any time, with or without cause.

Affiliates are required to disclose their relationship with Akola in any promotional content, in compliance with FTC guidelines.

The Site and all products sold through it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Akola makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site's availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure product descriptions and photography are accurate. However, colors and details may appear differently on different screens.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Akola Project and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or purchase of our products.

Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question.

This Legal Notice is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Dallas County, Texas.

We may update this Legal Notice from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means that you accept the updated terms.

For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify email subscribers in advance.
