Shipping Policy

Every Akola piece is handcrafted by women in Uganda. We take care packaging and shipping each order so it arrives the way it was meant to: beautifully.

This policy covers how we ship, how long it takes, and what to do if something goes wrong.

 

1. Where We Ship

We currently ship to all 50 US states and Washington, D.C. We do not ship internationally at this time.

International shipping is something we are working toward. If you are outside the US and want to be notified when that changes, join our email list.

 

2. Free Shipping

Standard shipping is free on US orders that meet our current free shipping threshold.

The free shipping threshold is subject to change at any time without prior notice. The threshold that applies is the one active at the time your order is placed.

The current threshold is displayed in the announcement bar at the top of our website. If your order total falls below that amount, standard shipping rates will apply at checkout.

Free shipping applies to standard delivery only. It does not apply to expedited shipping options.

 

3. Shipping Options

Standard Shipping

Estimated delivery time is 8 to 10 business days from the date your order ships. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

Standard shipping is free when your order meets the current threshold. Otherwise, the rate is calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight.

Expedited Shipping

Expedited shipping is available at checkout for an additional fee. Delivery times and rates for expedited options are shown at checkout before you complete your order.

Choosing expedited shipping does not change how quickly we process and pack your order. It affects transit time only, once the order leaves our facility.

 

4. Order Processing

Orders are processed Monday through Friday. Orders placed on weekends or federal holidays are processed the next business day.

Most orders are processed and ready to ship within one to two business days. During high-volume periods, such as holidays or new collection launches, processing may take slightly longer. We will communicate any significant delays by email.

Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

 

5. Tracking Your Order

A tracking number is sent to your email as soon as your order ships. Use that number on the carrier's website to follow your package.

Tracking updates may take 24 to 48 hours to appear after your order ships. This is normal and does not indicate a problem with your delivery.

If your tracking shows delivered but you have not received your package, check with neighbors and any household members before reaching out. If the package is still not found after 48 hours, contact us at care@akolajewelry.com

 

6. Delays and Delivery Issues

Once a package is with the carrier, we do not control delivery timelines. Delays caused by weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control are not something we can resolve directly.

That said, we are here to help. If your package is significantly delayed or appears stuck in transit, reach out. We will do everything we can to get it sorted.

Akola is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after a confirmed delivery. If your tracking shows delivered and the package is missing, contact your carrier to file a claim. We are happy to assist with documentation.

 

7. Incorrect Shipping Address

Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. We begin processing orders quickly and cannot guarantee changes once an order is submitted.

If you catch an error right away, email us at care@akolapjewelry.com with your order number and the correct address. We will do our best to update it before the order ships.

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we will contact you to arrange reshipment. Additional shipping charges may apply.

 

8. Damaged or Defective Items

We inspect every order before it ships. If your item arrives damaged or defective, we want to make it right.

Email us at care@akolapjewelry.com within seven days of delivery. Include your order number and a photo of the item and packaging. We will send a replacement or issue a full refund, your choice.
